Security is our Top Priority!
Over 500,000 professionals around the globe rely on GPT Translator to protect their data's confidentiality and security.
GPT Translator ensures that user-submitted texts are handled with maximum discretion. All input content is held only in volatile memory (RAM) during live processing and never written to persistent storage unless absolutely necessary for translation processing. When document files are processed, they are temporarily stored on disk, but each file is protected using robust, symmetrical encryption techniques similar to those employed in secure financial systems. These encrypted files are automatically deleted once the translation task is completed. The encryption key is not stored on disk; instead, it is retained exclusively in volatile memory during the session and on the subscriber’s local device, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. Importantly, GPT Translator does not use any text, document, or translation data from subscribers to train AI models or for any analytical purpose, ensuring strict confidentiality of user data. For Pro subscribers, glossary terms are stored on persistent servers in encrypted form to allow seamless cross-platform access and long-term convenience. These glossary records are logically isolated per account and protected by multiple layers of authorization. Free-tier users’ glossary entries, on the other hand, are stored solely within their browser’s local storage, providing local access without any server-side retention. We never sell or share translation data with third parties. Our platform is built with a strong emphasis on data sovereignty and user privacy, ensuring enterprise-grade protection for individuals and businesses alike.
GPT Translator servers are owned and operated exclusively by the GPT Translator team, ensuring full control over infrastructure and security policies. These servers are hosted in ISO 27001-certified co-location data centers located in Finland, a country known for its strong data protection laws and regulatory transparency. The co-location facilities are physically protected by biometric access controls, 24/7 on-site surveillance, fire suppression systems, and redundant power infrastructure. Only a limited number of authorized GPT Translator personnel are granted physical access to these machines, and every entry is logged and audited for accountability. All server hardware is maintained by trusted personnel trained in secure operations and compliant with international security standards. The data centers are routinely audited by internal teams and external firms including DeepL’s third-party compliance auditors to ensure continued adherence to industry-leading protocols. Redundant systems across racks and availability zones ensure that no single point of failure can compromise operations. As the physical backbone of our platform, these data centers play a critical role in safeguarding translation requests, glossary data, and user preferences.
All user data exchanged between GPT Translator clients and servers is protected using modern TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption to maintain confidentiality and integrity. We use TLS 1.3 wherever supported and ensure that older protocols and cipher suites are disabled to reduce exposure to known vulnerabilities. Our encryption practices follow current NIST guidelines and are regularly reviewed by our internal cybersecurity team. Encryption is enforced both in transit and at rest (where applicable) using AES-256 symmetric encryption and RSA for key exchange. We utilize forward secrecy protocols to ensure that even if a session key were to be compromised, past communications would remain secure. Certificate transparency and automatic renewal processes ensure that all HTTPS endpoints are continuously verified and protected against man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. In addition to standard encryption layers, sensitive user actions—such as subscription upgrades, glossary updates, and file uploads—are logged securely and validated against authentication tokens to prevent session hijacking or replay attacks. We are committed to evolving our encryption stack as standards improve, and we maintain a strict policy of deprecating outdated algorithms and protocols.
GPT Translator is designed to deliver maximum availability with minimal service interruptions. Our global infrastructure incorporates redundancy at every layer, including network failover, hardware replication, load balancing, and automatic service scaling. This fault-tolerant architecture ensures that even in the event of a hardware failure, service will continue without user impact. We maintain multiple active zones across regions with automatic failover and DNS routing to reroute requests in real-time. Additionally, our system health is monitored around the clock using automated alerts and anomaly detection mechanisms. Our engineering team performs regular disaster recovery drills to test system resiliency under simulated stress conditions. Over the last 12 months, we’ve achieved 99.92% measured uptime, demonstrating our commitment to reliability. Real-time alerts and rollback mechanisms ensure that platform updates or code deployments do not negatively impact users. We also offer proactive maintenance windows to prevent unplanned downtime, with clear communication protocols to notify subscribers in advance. These investments ensure that individuals and organizations relying on GPT Translator for their document processing and translation needs can trust our system to remain consistently accessible and responsive, even during peak demand.
